The dark ebony is almost black. Heavy and decent. Palo Santos is a tropical type of wood with a greenish glow and an erratic grain. The hard oak is of course something everyone is familiar with. Palissander is a stylish dark type of wood, often used to make instruments. Bubinga is a hard African type of wood. Red-brown, but because it is exposed to light it will grow darker in time. Finally there is the juniper. An erratic type of wood with outspoken grains and knots.
The spine on the handle has been enhanced with two characterizing Laguiole details: the famous bee and the filed spine. Fancy details on amazing knives. To keep the set complete it comes with a wooden box. In it you will also find a French description of the different types of wood.
