The Fenix TK35UE V2.0 is a tactical LED flashlight with a powerful beam of no less than 5000 lumens. Its tactical and ‘duty’ mode and beam distance of 400 metres make it perfect for security, law enforcement and rescue and search ops. It can be used with 18650 batteries or four CR123A cold-resistant lithium batteries. In case of an emergency it even works with one 18650 or two CR123A batteries.
## Fenix TK35 UE vs. Fenix TK35UE V2.0
The Fenix TK35 UE flashlight was completely updated and now available as the TK35 UE V2.0 version. What changed? Amongst other things the light output, this was upgraded from 3200 to no less than 5000 lumens! In addition, the beam distance was upgraded from 400 instead of 300 metres, and it weighs 84 grams less than its predecessor.
## How to use the Fenix TK35UE V2.0
The Fenix TK35 UE V2.0 is enhanced with a wheel with which you can easily switch between the duty and the tactical mode. You also turn the light off via the same wheel. Subsequently you can use the two buttons to switch between the light modes. The duty mode has five fixed light modes and a stroboscope while the tactical mode only gives you access to a 2000 lumens turbo mode and the stroboscope. As such you can choose a mode that suits the situation you expect. An additional lock-out ensures the light won’t accidentally turn on.
## Light modes for the Fenix TK35UE V2.0
### Tactical mode:
Tactical: 3500 lumens, average burn time of 1 hours and 50 minutes

## Prevent deeply-discharged batteries
Are you not planning to use your flashlight for a while? In that case, it’s best to unscrew the tailcap (the bottom end of the handle) a few turns. This will prevent your battery from becoming too deeply discharged, which can happen if the circuit of the battery stays in contact with the flashlight without being used or recharged in the meantime.A deeply discharged battery cannot always be revived and recharged, which would be a shame!
Do you have a flashlight with a built-in battery? Then make sure to charge your flashlight at least once every 3-4 months, even when not in use. This prevents the battery from becoming too deeply discharged, and it’s also good for the lifespan of your battery!

Before I do, I research and try out many brands and models. (35 years ago I started with a non-LED AA Maglite). This one is my overall favourite! The amount of light at high mode is almost more than I will ever need. Usability (which is a matter of taste) is the best I have seen in a flashlight (I especially like the possibility to switch it off without having to turn the head or something, the simple but practical battery charge indicator and the access methods to normal and tactical modes). It is hefty, but not heavy. Not small, but small enough. Also, functionality like the ability to use CR123a's or a single 18650 battery is great. And, the inclusion of a good-quality holster is a plus. Just a few minor improvement possibilities that I see are:1- no batteries included; for a flashlight in this price class I find that stingy; they could at least have provided a battery discount coupon so that you can choose your own favourite battery2- knurling would have improved the grip; I wonder how it is when your hands are wet or oily3- a tactical crown with tungsten contact points (like the Fenix TK16 v2 has) would have made it complete4- the battery charge indicator does not work with CR123a's; this would be a nice addition,Lance, HeeschTuesday, 21 June 2022,In generalValue for moneyExpectationsThis review has been written in Dutch.
